I wonder sometimes. Does being in the middle scramble your thinking so much that they don't see what the rest of us do? I'm not talking about the skill aspect of playing the game at the highest level which is obviously beyond our comprehension. But you'd think there shouldn't be this much disparity in how basic tactical maneuvers are perceived by captains and long-time viewers.

Plenty of poor fielding from England too. I haven’t been impressed with Gill’s use of his bowlers this innings.

It was just a mid on standing deeper than usual. Was not at the boundary.

I think the camera angle may have given you the wrong idea. He was running around as the ball was played wide of him. I think it would have been one with the mid on slightly up too. And maybe even two. Right now he is more of an ODI mid-on right on the circle.

Right but my frustration is that there should be a guy in the ring on the onside to cut off that single, and there wasn't.
