This is hilarious, I hope he gets to a hundred purely through edges through a third man which, increasingly infuriatingly, remains vacant
Modern teams' stubborn refusal to put a third man in really irks me, especially when it's india doing it . It's almost like it's a matter of pride because third man is seen as a defensive position.

I'd have one in almost every single time. Batsmen should be made to earn runs, not be rewarded with boundaries for edges and little dabs .

Especially to a bloke like Akash Deep who showed barely any capacity to hit the ball in front of square on the offside. Genuinely think he'd still have been in the 20s if they'd had a third man in.

Plenty of argy bargy going on

Love how cameras pointed to Crawley when Jaiswal appeared to be cramping up

The next few sessions are going to be spicy

More sledgefests pls

Lot of batsmen to come so this is a great position to be in. I've only followed the scorecard , has it actually flattened out into a total road or something?

It's doing less but still enough. Englands attack is just utter dross
Jaiswal the top scorer got dropped twice which cost 65 runs and counting ,
Deep got dropped on 21 cost 45 runs, so that's 110 gifted runs + lost scoreboard pressure , and they are a bowler light and only 50 overs rest,
Not the bowlers fault at all here imo.

Dropped catches don't make you extensively explore the middle of the pitch when so many dismissals have been LBW or nicks behind

Good luck getting either of these two out with an old ball, a pitch not doing anything anymore and tired bowlers…
Still something in it, but the bowler tiredness will become an increasingly important factor in this innings. They really need to use spin more to give the fast bowlers a break - if the innings gets to the second new ball, they are REALLY going to want some [slightly] fresh bodies.
