It was time for him to make way over a year ago. His recent form, bar a single innings, is awful.

Although there is a guy over in Zim who actually performed in his last test (11 wickets in India) aged over 34 who we didn't even pick.

Yeah it would be reasonable to pick Blundell if he didn't look to be in terminal decline and there were no good replacements. However, he does appear to be in terminal decline with both bat and gloves and Mitch Hay is banging the door down. It's just nonsensical – he's been given far too many last chances.

Nick Kelly obviously had a brilliant Plunket Shield and NZ A tour of Bangladesh and is unlucky along with Mariu, but so is Chapman. Was back up test bat for the India tour, scored a double hundred for Auckland, and has shown his class in white ball too.

I'm not sure tbh but the physio came out and checked it out while they took an early drinks break.
He stayed out there but only a few balls later he was writhing in pain after playing a defensive shot.
