Cricket: Silk Cut Challenge for all-rounders

Looking back at the four all-rounder cricket tournaments played between 1984-87, at Taunton, Arundel and Hong Kong.

So I came across this article. This challenge was organized in the 80s every year from 1984-87, to decide who's the best all rounder in the golden period. The 4 greats in Imran, Hadlee, Botham and Kapil participated of course and were joined by Rice, Marshall and others are various points.
The scoring system evolved each year, but Rice dominated every time. He won 3/4 editions barring 1986, which was taken by Imran. From what I've read, this is because, A- Rice was brilliant, B- He took it very seriously, C- he worked out the scoring method and devised a good strategy around it.
Would be great to here from others who have either watched it or have more knowledge about this.

Yeah that part makes sense.... Beefy not taking it too seriously makes it a lot of sense too, consistent with his personality

Though when Beefy wanted to, he made 70 runs off Rice's 4 overs... Which sounds like a joke even today
