Rank these Test Batsmen in Order

Honestly, I think they're pretty close. Pietersen avgs higher which is more than neutralized by the flatter wkts and longevity of Gower. But Pietersen's ATG inns and X factor edge it towards him for me. He could take down the best bowlers in a way few ever have been able to.
Gower has more ATG knocks.

I guess I just think KP was very lucky when his career happened to start and end, and in his last two years KP lost 3 points of average, had he played another few years he might end up with a Gooch average lol

I'll comment on those I've seen live and/or a lot on TV.
My list is based partly on the the attacks they faced ie India weren't what they are and nor are WI.

Gooch
Gower
Thorpe
Boycott
Cook

From what I've watched and read:
May
Compton
Barrington

Brook will end up very high on the list.

Who would be next?
One of Graveney, Amiss, Robin Smith, or Trott imo with Stewart behind those 4
