No, Pietersen has a short career, functionally 9 years compared to Gower's 15, all in a substantially flatter era, especially much easier home wickets.

Honestly, I think they're pretty close. Pietersen avgs higher which is more than neutralized by the flatter wkts and longevity of Gower. But Pietersen's ATG inns and X factor edge it towards him for me. He could take down the best bowlers in a way few ever have been able to.
