3rd Test (Lord’s) - 10 July to 14 July

I'm in two minds about Bashir. On one side he seems likeable and whole-hearted. On the other I just feel we could do so much better. I would say at least 50% of his wickets this series have been flukes, the rest of the time he's been milked.

It was literally working because it was getting the team closer to the target. Would you have rated the innings higher if he'd made 60 in 50 balls instead? It achieved the exact same thing even though it was slow.
I think he should've changed gears once we were down to 30 because realistically that's about as much mileage as he could've milked from the bunnies before the odds caught up.

Jofra calling out the keyboard warriors and saying Rishabh pissed him off charging. Love him.

Also said his “overs are mapped out until December”, which was interesting. Wonder how much he’ll play between now and the first Ashes test. Reckon he might play 1 more game this series, but no chance he plays both, and think it’ll be a pretty limited schedule for the rest of the year.

Yes if he could have pulled a Stokes 2019
No if he would have got out slogging
Stokes 2019 happened because of dodgy umpiring and poor fielding. Even that knock would've gone in vain if Owen Wilson didn't decide to wear an England jersey that day

Whether he played like Pujara or Stokes, it was a near impossible task to get to this target with a tail who barely score runs. Plus as pointed out, Jadeja lacks the power game to play more aggressively.

He did what he had to do and should be the last person to be criticized for his approach but its the top order that messed up a very winnable game.

I agree but for bashir , he does not play any games outside of test match level

he is learning and has won a game for England before

I just think the lad can only improve with the more experience he gets

has there been another spinner at his age only play tests matches ?

I actually really quite like Siraj tbf. But he's extremely easy to dislike. Schadenfreude was invented for people like him.

Do the other Indian seamers bowl better without Bumrah ?

Akash Deep took 10 wickets last test , this test match he looked like Prime Navdeep Saini

I can't remember a similar situation before, especially when there are several more experienced candidates with better records who could replace him.

last game was a game of the life for Deep
India’s record with and without him speaks for itself, as well as India played without him, I think that was a particularly poor display from England, particularly the bowlers. They’ve bloody made up for it now though!

Doesn't that always happens?
The guy who scores runs slowly gets more criticized than the guy who doesn't scores at all
For example: 2019 SF with MSD & 2023 FINAL with KL
