3rd Test (Lord’s) - 10 July to 14 July

need Stokes to channel his inner Len Hutton, sit Brook down and yell at him until he decides to never do stupid nonsense again, being a strokemaker is fine but there's a fine line between when you can be Viv Richards and when you can be Virender Sehwag.
Whats wrong with sehwag? He was anything but dumb as batsmen

As garbage as they can be, if they also got South Africa's cycle in 23-25 they probably would also have made the final.

Not sure it's a great stick to beat them with
Maybe but I struggle to see what Baz has brought to English cricket apart from playing a few extra fancy shots and being 'entertaining'

No one will care if Barca for example put on a show but don't win La Liga or CL

Too much style over substance

Green tops which used to be bread and butter of English pacers are now being force fed with roads to keep up with the Bazball template

Test cricket needs a bit of pragmatism. You can have your entertainment in white ball cricket.

I found test cricket under Kohli's captaincy for example pretty entertaining because most games featured bowler friendly pitches.

England are legit top three team in the world. With archer back except them to win ashes down under
They have an excellent batting lineup, but lack a decent bowler. All of the top 9/WTC teams have a better "best" bowler than England. Their bowling can punch above its weight though to be fair.

How do you even leave Lord's a greentop with this weather? pitch is already looking like it's breaking apart by day 4 session 1, with grass day 4 and 5 would've been seriously dangerous to the batsmen, might get bowled out under 100.

NZ H won
India one test H won
South Africa H won
Pakistan A won
NZ A drew
Ireland H won
Australia H drew
India A lost
WI H won
SL H won
Pak A lost
NZ A won
Zim H won

Two defeats, both away on subcontinent. The two drawn series are frustrating but these results have been so much better than what came before.
Are you seriously telling me that winning 3 Ashes series on the trot in Strauss/Cook era, winning a series in India, demolishing India at home, (won a series against SA during that period too if Im not mistaken?) is worse than anything you have achieved in the past 2 years?

Counting wins against Ireland, West Indies, Zimbabwe etc like that's going to be impress somebody...

The only impressive feat in this era has been whitewashing Pakistan in Pakistan on absolute roads but you toured them again and you got bamboozled in spin friendly conditions so...

If Bazball cannot help regain the Ashes or win convincingly against the likes of India or SA at home/away from home, Baz would've failed big time.

That was 15 years ago, Before Bazball we had won 1 test in last 20 games played iirc

I mean if you take ‘came before’ as literally everything then obviously not. It’s not the greatest England team ever or anything like it.

Its probably been better than anything since that team that won in India disintegrated, and a massive improvement in the Silverwood/Root era and I’m not sure how that’s debatable.
