3rd Test (Lord’s) - 10 July to 14 July

This won't be an easy chase. We need to bowl them out under 200.
Dude no way India will dismiss england for less than 250 even, forget about 200. No chance. Zero. The attack is wayward and leaks runs, including a whole bunch of extras.

England so far have been gifting their wickets too. 3/4 were gifts. If England had played sensibly, it'd be 70/2 rather than 98/4.

And let's not forget MCG Test? Australia were 90/6 and then 170/9, ended up getting 240, setting target of 340. Even last innings 270/7 ended up being 387/10. This team can't dismiss the lower order cheaply.

Yeah he's not really the best short pitch bowler IMO, I don't really remember many spells from him where he really gets the batsman hopping in the way Rabada/Cummins do. That's mostly down to the way he bowls ofc but he's certainly a lesser bowler when he doesn't attack the stumps.
Think his point of delivery, so far in front of everyone else, has anything to do with it?

Thin line between wanting to win while playing aggressively and absolute stupidity

This is why despite playing more test cricket than other country, England under Bazball are yet to play a WTC final
As garbage as they can be, if they also got South Africa's cycle in 23-25 they probably would also have made the final.

Not sure it's a great stick to beat them with

The path to a WTC Final is less cricket, not more.

Byes having a strong game…
Bazball hasn't produced results. Thats the point. There are loopholes in the WTC format but there's no consistency from this England team.

Besides England have a pretty mediocre generation anyway unless you steal a few more players from likes of SA and WI :p

Bazball will be reduced to Ashes(pun intended) when you tour Australia

What you get for implementing a template created by someone who averaged < 40 and finagled an indigenous son of the soil out of the captaincy boo.
??

What does this actually mean?

Are you referring to McCullum?
I'm no fan, but he was a world class keeper (a million times better than Pant and Smith) who became a specialist bat after back problems. He averaged about 43 as a specialist bat.

And is Taylor "the indigenous son of the soil"? He isn't Māori (mother Samoan, father NZ European).

Tbf, we ain’t won a Test in Aus since 10/11, this series here is the real test of Bazball. In any case, Duckett, Brook and Smith have come in under Baz and been big hits, so whatever happens between now and the end of the Ashes, I don’t think our MO changes massively

If England get to Jan 2027 having never won a series v India or Australia under this management, it will all have been a massive waste of everyone's time.

NZ H won
India one test H won
South Africa H won
Pakistan A won
NZ A drew
Ireland H won
Australia H drew
India A lost
WI H won
SL H won
Pak A lost
NZ A won
Zim H won

Two defeats, both away on subcontinent. The two drawn series are frustrating but these results have been so much better than what came before.

need Stokes to channel his inner Len Hutton, sit Brook down and yell at him until he decides to never do stupid nonsense again, being a strokemaker is fine but there's a fine line between when you can be Viv Richards and when you can be Virender Sehwag.
I think this is only relevant in cases where they need to bat to save the game (like last match) and the ego isn't put away
