3rd Test (Lord’s) - 10 July to 14 July

Fine the umpires. This has been a ridiculous Test match.
Has honestly been a horrible game to umpire. Players going out of their way to waste time at every opportunity, balls keep going out of shape, pitch that stays low but when you give an LBW out Hawkeye says it's going over. And most of the cricket has been turgid and boring. Plus it's hot. And now a captain has told the opposition openet to grow some ****ing balls.

Regarding balls and spares - the ECB is responsible for providing match balls and spares for the series. They control what is provided to the umpires at the start of the game, and the umpires take care of it during the match - literally. I've known umpires to take the match balls back to the hotel with them at the end of the days play if there is no secure storage at the ground!

That 'grow some ****ing balls' can get real personal tomorrow

This will extend to when Gill comes out to bat. All the English players are going to constantly be in his ear

Cannot wait. **** that 'spirit of cricket' BS. Sledging makes test cricket entertaining

May not have been that smart if they have managed to fire bumrah up.

Either way another patheticly slow day. Cricket being good doesn't excuse it. Umpires really have lost all control...

Umpires should be fined for failing to do their job too

Fifth Day

Stokes:
"For 90 overs, they should feel hell out there-"

Root: "But we haven't bowled 90 overs in a day since 2021."

Stokes: "Oh Uhh, For 80 overs-"

Root: "Nope, haven't bowled 80 overs a day in a while either."

Stokes: "For however many overs we bowl, they should feel hell out there."

Cricket hasn’t been that good. The pitch is ****. The ball is ****. And there’s a bunch of **** bowlers interspersed amongst some great ones.
Largely agree. I saw an article with the CEO of Dukes who argued that the current summer being so hot and dry means the ball doesn’t last so well. However, this was a problem the last two years when the summers were nothing like as hot and dry as this one.

I saw that interview. He seemed clueless. Go and investigate your cricket balls instead of simply drinking champagne at Lords and blaming the weather to the press.

Also ten overs the ball was misshapen. And England had not scored 100 runs either. So “players are hitting it harder” excuse doesn’t fly.
