Walcott is the best batsman here, De Villiers comes second and close, Flower for me the third.

Walcott is the best keeper here and pretty clearly so by reputation, De Villiers comes second largely due to the sheer athlete he was, Flower was a below average keeper who got replaced by Tatenda Taibu the moment Zimbabwe got the choice, and would not keep in any test standard team, similar to Rahul Dravid but obviously a far inferior Batsman.

Overall, Walcott>De Villiers>Flower

Flower kept wickets in Tests, regularly for 55 matches. That's 87% of his career. Walcott did for 15 (33%) and ABD did 24 (20%). Put respect on his grit.

He won't be a keeper in any of the top 8 today, so No, you have to be actually good at it to get keeper points, it's like giving Viv points for bowling 25+ overs sometimes

Like Smith keeps for England and Pant for India.

why did Zimbabwe replace a perfectly capable Flower with Tatenda Taibu instead of just getting more bowlers or specialist bats, if they thought he was on level of good/proper keepers?
Taibu was a very Good keeper, and he would have made the Zimbabwe team as a pure batsman anyways.

so Flower wasn't good enough to retain the gloves in a terrible Zimbabwe while keeping to nothing bowlers while Pant keeps Jurel out while keeping to ATG spin at home and Bumrah. Levels to it, clearly shows Pant is several leagues over Flower as a keeper.

Flower kept Wayne James and Neil Ferrera out of the team. James especially was a very good keep. Flower kept to highly inconsistent but fast pacers like Olonga and big turners but wild spinners like Strang. He also kept for 150+ overs in an innings more than anyone else. And most Indian fans agree Jurel should keep and Pant be a specialist.

Prove Wayne James was a great keeper on international standard and what was his batting average? reckon Jurel is far closer to Pant in batting than James was to Flower. If you have to hype keeping to Oloonga and Strang then that's probably it for you tbh

So you don't think it's tougher to keep to thrash pacers who are fast and leggies who turned it big but can't pitch it consistently??
Like, I can't prove necessarily Godfrey Evans was a great keeper with stats...... James, as much I read was a solid keep. And his FC numbers are good enough to push him ahead of some of the mids Zim used to carry.

Godfrey Evans has endless testimony to being a GOAT level keep, does Flower or James?
