Sorry, I meant close to averaging over 50 in both tests and ODIs.Among current players? Duckett, Rahul, Hope, Carty.
Duckett will be there one day.Sorry, I meant close to averaging over 50 in both tests and ODIs.
He isn't better in ODIs.AB is better in all three tbh
Nissanka more likely imoDuckett will be there one day.
AB doesn't have as big of a weakness as Virat in TestsTests it's a tossup. Kohli with a better peak but steeper decline where ABD was downhill skiing entirely in an easy batting era.
Sure. In terms of pure ability, ABD is better than Kohli and better than any bat I can think of aside from Sachin and Viv.AB doesn't have as big of a weakness as Virat in Tests
AB easily better in ODIs.He isn't better in ODIs.
Tests it's a tossup. Kohli with a better peak but steeper decline where ABD was downhill skiing entirely in an easy batting era.
Nah AB is betterSure. In terms of pure ability, ABD is better than Kohli and better than any bat I can think of aside from Sachin and Viv.
But in terms of actual record, Kohli has better career highlights. ABD may have a cleaner record but it's also a bit soft which makes their difference close enough to be a tossup.
By what measure? Kohli batted up and has an all star WC under his belt.AB easily better in ODIs.
Similar average ( era adjusted )By what measure? Kohli batted up and has an all star WC under his belt.
How was ABD in tournament finals?Similar average ( era adjusted )
Far better SR
Better WC performances
Kohli played 10 tournament finals, averaged 20ish with only 1 fifty.
Kohli peak was in 2010s, but if you check stats, AB numbers were far superior during that period.
Kohli failed in all the WCs he played, last WC he was scoring very slowly and can be counted as a decent performance for batters like Dravid but not for an ATG.
Villiers was a great test batter for a very long time in comparison to Kohli, Kohli peaked higher but Villiers blows him away in extended brilliance, plus no bunny country for him like Kohli has England, and I think Kohli also made lots of wanker runs at home, De Villiers made wanker runs too but I don't think there's a huge gap in their output of wanker runs.Sure. Yeah Kohli peaked higher but ABD was longer.Villiers was a great test batter for a very long time in comparison to Kohli, Kohli peaked higher but Villiers blows him away in extended brilliance, plus no bunny country for him like Kohli has England, and I think Kohli also made lots of wanker runs at home, De Villiers made wanker runs too but I don't think there's a huge gap in their output of wanker runs.
I generally think Kohli's home average significantly flatters him, and his away average significantly holds him back, he was a bit of a FTB at him but he played great knocks away, a very weird case. Though, Kohli's big home serieses are definitely aided by non competitive sides (2017 Sri Lanka) or pitches uber dead for pace bowling (2016 England), he wasn't churning huge output on the difficult wickets.Yeah Kohli peaked higher but ABD was longer.
No bunny country for ABD sure.
Kohli at home wasn't easy runs at all.
ABD batted most of his entire career in an easier position at 5/6 after a much stronger lineup.
Kohli averaged more in his career second half.ABD was simply on another level during the second half of his one day career. An average of 63 and strike rate of 111 is just unparalleled.
Again, the main issue with ABD is that he had a big cushion of batting at 5/6 after Smith, Kallis, and Amla and casually smacking tired attacks. To me that counteracts Kohli at home.I generally think Kohli's home average significantly flatters him, and his away average significantly holds him back, he was a bit of a FTB at him but he played great knocks away, a very weird case.
