Haven't seen much of Campbell previously but is he usually more aggressive than he showed today? I know he was facing high-quality pace bowling but having him and Brathwaite as such a passive opening pair was just asking for trouble.

As Carty & King showed there are opportunities to score, especially against Starc.

Not surprised at the scores given each side's batting line ups and the spicy pitch, but ... while we have men occupying 3 and 4 we don't actually have a 3 and 4. Inglis and Green against this attack on these pitches just underlines the deficiency. Gob is right about Marnus even if it only allows us to push Green down the order. I'd like to see McSweeney in too. A line up of Usman, Konstas, McSweeney, Marnus, Travis and Green (if you think it fair Webster should make way for him) looks better than the one they fielded. Dropping Marnus when they knew Smith was out seemed an unnecessary disruption.

Hopefully we can restrict the WI on their innings and the pitch settles a bit. The WI are not too far away from winning this game.

Seales is clearly a very good bowler and Shamar is very talented although appears to have been a bit injury prone (edit, he has only every played 15 FC games, 8 of which are tests)? They also have good spinners but they clearly need to ditch Alzarri.

I think every team would take Jayden Seales ..

He's young , he bowls with great intelligence and skill , perfect physique for a fast bowler and he's got that aggression you need to succeed ..What a prospect ..

Alzarri Joseph I really don't know what is up with him because he has all the physical tools you need , height , pace , fitness but he just can't seem to string up a plan together , which is odd because he started his career with Roach and Holder in the test team who were very good at setting up batsmen in these conditions.

He's one of the more boneheaded bowlers I've seen at this level, incapable of making and sticking to a plan. Totally the opposite of Seales who looked at home in tests on his debut, which was just his second first class match.

Kurtis Patterson should be given more tests at #3. He's the best top order player in shield for a while. If Green fails all series he will be dropped for Kurtis Patterson. If Konstas fails all series they can try an opener bat off for the Ashes spot.
