Commentator being very generous saying that was a "good effort from Bashir". U wot m8. Regulation save on the boundary wasn't it
At least when we had the King of Spain he could bat reasonably well and was a good catcher. Bashir offers nothing besides his bowling....

Bashir could become a good Test bowler if he figured out how to land the ball on the same spot 6 times in a row.

Second new ball. This is where things get serious

Whatever it takes!!!
I think you guys are being too harsh. Looks like the plan was to attack at one end. When Pant was there, it was Pant. And now Rahul has taken over that role. Nair is just gonna stay there to ensure he can get set and have his eye well in so that he can also crank it up when that decision is made.

Rahul can't attack like Pant though, and Nair is being a bit too slow imo. Rahul was keeping it ticking a bit faster.

Think it's alright for Nair to have made sure he stuck around for the second new ball considering how quickly the tail fell in the first innings. Maybe an interesting idea would have been promoting someone ahead of him to try whack it a bit but those sorts of moves don't seem to work out too often. Still plenty of time to get the lead to 380ish and then give Bumrah a short spell before stumps.

England bat close to 5 rpo so India knows Eng can chase around 400 in 80-85 overs on still a flat deck. So there's no chance India will give England many overs tonight.

India's only hope is to make their new ball count. Because the way England bat there's no second new ball in the equation. If England reach the 2nd new ball stage, it probably means they gonna win.

Interesting contrast in the batting for both teams.

Indian batters have struggled to get started, but have managed to covert when they do. Of the 7 batters to cross 20 so far, 5 made it to a century

England's batters in the first innings (Crawley aside) all got starts but didn't cash in 7 England batters crossed 20 for 1 ton and a 99.

Wonder if this is a trend we'll see throughout the summer.

Come on boys, target 50 runs in next 45 mins and then declare.

Given weather tomorrow, and the fact that Bumrah will be here for three games, so that’s the time to bowl aggressively - this is the time to go for it.

It would not be the worst thing for India if they collapsed in the next ten overs for thirty runs. May save them from themselves.
