Was always likely. The onus is on the batsmen - from both sides but especially India - to really kick on. I shudder to think how much worse things will be in the games Bumrah sits out. There's literally no edge to this bowling.

India are playing with 9 men literally. Shardul and Prasidh don't belong in this test team.

Think you need your spinner in early against this type of team, controlling the run rate is just as important as taking a wicket against England

I think India have already realised they've messed up with Shardul's selection

They messed up when Gill and Pant went too aggresive in that period before lunch.

India should have ground us into the dirt. Was not quite as idiotic as us against the Aussies at Lords when Lyon got injured but up there.

Lack of depth in the bowling is hurting India. Of course, it's true that this pitch has been a belter so far, and England have always had their prime strength in batting. But bowling apart from Bumrah and to some extent Siraj has been a weak point. Some of the dropped catches haven't helped either.

Really missing the fearsome pace and swing of Shami and the persistence of Ishant Sharma

Not really watched much today, obviously Bumrah will be a loss but not sure Siraj will last 5 tests either, so dread to think what will happen if we get a test with both out.
