It's pretty clear cut really. Ambrose didn't play that much away out of Australia and England, but man his Aussie and English records......

Ummm..... No. He only has 4 or more WPM away against NZ, Australia (just) and Zimbabwe. 3 out of 9 opponents. The stats are right above your post.

He is confining this from 88-2000 to approximately match Ambrose's career. Which in the world of PFK 'select some timeframes that suit my argument', might be the most reasonable thing I've ever seen from him.

Wasim away 88-2000 is 8 out of 9 countries>= 4 WPM.

I'm not a Wasim fan, or a fan picking exactly 4WPM specifically to make him look good. I rate Ambrose ahead fairly clearly. But he does have a point.

Wasim away 88-00 was also nearly 4.7 WPM. If we are confining our analysis to number of wickets rather than quality, this is really impressive over this length of time.

Atleast him stating that in full would be a better start. He would still be wrong, it would be a silly comp and Ambrose blows Wasim in Australia/England hard over any period, but will atleast be honest

He did state it in full, at least as far as what I clarified pertains to. Reread what he posted if you are unsure. I understood it fine.

Yup, Ambrose is ahead IMO on account of how far ahead he is against a couple of opponents. But the checklist by meeting arbitrary thresholds is hardly unique to PFK. You will see constant references in PCs to a player being 'better' cos he did better in multiple places than one with an overall better record. Like averaging 19, 19, and 199 is better than 20, 20, 20. Better in 2/3 countries. This is obviously wrong, but it is often how checklists work around here. That's an issue with the meta, not his post.

I guess that’s impressive
