Yeah I think Amla had a slightly milder decline. Good tour of England and better at home.
Yeah was good in Trent Bridge, and the performance in 2018 India series in Centurion and also on the absolutely horrid Johannesburg wicket was also very good.

Harvey was hailed as the next Bradman for a while but dramatically failed to live up to expectations. Still the best of these three though.

decline
Harvey (1960-63) age : 31-34
1,042 @ 34.73 , 3 100s

Amla (2016-19) age : 32-35
2,375 @ 38.93 , 5 100s

Kohli (2020-25) age : 31-36
2,028 @ 30.73 , 3 100s

Amla was better with the decline but at peak both Kohli and Amla were monsters and Harvey was Bradmanesque. So Harvey wins this.

Hey, now we can compare the end of their careers.

Amla
Sadly played 12 continous innings against Australia and averaged 19, all played in very pace friendly conditions, managed two good fifties on spicy wickets against Pakistan and averaged 52 against them. Looked hopeless against the Sri Lankan pacers and decided to retire from Cricket. Average fell 6.14 points in approximately four years.

Harvey
Got owned by Hall and Worrell, averaged 17 in 8 innings, made a hundred at Edgbaston against Trueman/Statham/Allen, made 73 and 53 in spicy conditions during Trueman's game against Fred/Jackson/Lock where no other aussie bat performed well, made a great hundred coming in at 16-2 against Trueman/Statham at Adeliade, another decent fifty. Average went down 13 points in 6 or so years.

Kohli
Went away on his back due to Scott Boland, made a hundred but completely failed in rest of the series in spicier conditions, performed well on very spicy wickets in South Africa. Average fell by 8 points in a around 5 years.

Kohli is better than Amla. I don't know enough about Harvey other than he was incredible until he wasn't. I think in those situations you have to give it to the guy who has ATG 100s in Aus, SA and England.

Harvey actually has arguably the best hundred ever made by a foreign batsman in South Africa. It is also one of the most distinguished hundreds ever in the history of the game.

Both teams had just been bowled out for 99 and 75 on a sticky wicket, and Harvey went out and made 151* on a sticky wicket, chasing down 336, a feat that seems incomprehensible on a normal South African wicket in the final inning, let alone a sticky one. He was 21 at the time.

like I said, he's not a player I know enough about and this is a ridiculous knock.
