Whatever it takes!!!
The Pataudi Trophy was good enough. Dunno why it had to be changed, though I am given to understand that De Mello guy has some uneasy history or something?

Quite happy to see that finally we have a trophy named after Tendulkar. But yes, like the consensus here, I would have loved for it to be Tendulkar-Lara.

In years to come the Root/Tendulkar would make more sense when they're 1 and 2 on the all time runs list. It also rolls of the tongue better than this rubbish.

The Kumble/Anderson would've been more appropriate.

It is indeed shameful that they put Anderson next to Tendulkar as though the former is his equal. Should be the Anderson-Srinath trophy or something.
Honestly, I wont mind had this been called the Anderson-Ashwin Trophy.. Both lower tier ATGs for me and probably the closest level players from both sides who can be classified among the greats.

All this crap about Anderson not being the equal of Tendulkar, I think they're perfect soul mates. They both had stupidly long careers and smashed records along the way whilst neither were the best of their generation!!

One of the worst posts of CW. It is like saying all cricketers play cricket, so all cricketers are equally good.

Yeah, it's obviously who I was referring to. Although, he's probably the only player who surpassed Jimmy, whilst SRT was inferior to loads.

Whooooooosh!!!
Dude many here including non indians rate srt as best since bradman and as best batsmen of 90s. Only hobbs and viv have case to be ahead of sachin. Of course sir don is undisputed
