Because it doesn't agree with your preconceived notions.

Name a credible list that had Sachin century in their top 30. The attack was only good on paper. Waqar was a shell of himself and Wasim was coming from diabetes. And saqlain was never truly that great in tests.
Saqlain was awesome that series and Wasim was bowling very well. And yeah I don't see why he can't make the top 50 given you have knocks against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in there.

Is this a joke? Saqlain was bowling as well as any spinner ever has in that series. Wasim wasnt in his peak years but he bowled some amazing spells that series too. Also the 99-2000 period was the phase late in his career where he recaptured his old form again and bowled close to his best in not just the India series but the tours of WI and SL too.

Come up with one if you think so.
Why? Í don't think you can make such lists based on purely quantitative metrics in the first place. Doesn't meant I can't critique that list because he is using it as some kind of authority.

But I can think of at least half dozen top innings that the list doesn't have, including 2-3 of Tendulkar knocks, Gavaskars final knock classic 96, Roy Fredericks 169, Dravids twin WI fifties, Miandads WI ton, and a few others that are not in the top 100.

Plus it was a somewhat difficult pitch, a bit broken up on the 4th day, India five down for not much, he was facing back spasms. Clearly he never watched the knock.

I mean, he did in back to back series against ATG Australia. Don't know why you just keep ignoring that.
42, and failed against the two other great attacks, so 1/3 at his peak, that's kind of sad. Collective average of 36 odd against great attacks (Austalia, Pakistan and South Africa) Pre Tennis Elbow induced decline.
