Genuine Best after Bradman

Best after Bradman lite, with a caveat, still best of era.

Elite ATG, never best of era.

Why have you rated Hobbs below Sachin, Viv & Sobers?
Should have mentioned that, meant to but forgot.

Purely in terms of greatness Hobbs is easily no. 2. He was further ahead of his peers than any of the others. He was also the outlier in a bowling era.

But I also rate the BAB strictly in terms of best bowlers faced. I've explained it before, but it's confusing.

It's a wet wicket, Hammond making 43 and 29* on this is probably worth a big hundred on batting pitches.

This is the issue for me for some of yesteryear greats like Jack Hobbs or Sydney Barnes.

Outside of Don, no one is that far ahead of his peers like Jack Hobbs but we have no idea about the quality of competition back then.

was considered a superior sport in Hobbs's era than it was considered in Bradman's era.

Same with Hammond & Gavaskar.

I think Hammond is greater/better but I do not think he faced anywhere close to the bowling Sunny did.

It'd be stupid not to.

I don't think you understand that FC was really important back then. He was already a giant before his first test.
That’s what I am asking.

Is there a list of first class statistics back then?

I am curious to know how far ahead he was of his peers
