Why have you rated Hobbs below Sachin, Viv & Sobers?
Should have mentioned that, meant to but forgot.

Purely in terms of greatness Hobbs is easily no. 2. He was further ahead of his peers than any of the others. He was also the outlier in a bowling era.

But I also rate the BAB strictly in terms of best bowlers faced. I've explained it before, but it's confusing.

This is the issue for me for some of yesteryear greats like Jack Hobbs or Sydney Barnes.

Outside of Don, no one is that far ahead of his peers like Jack Hobbs but we have no idea about the quality of competition back then.
