Last time England prepared a very bowling friendly pitch for Ireland,
England should prepare a pitch like this vs zimbabwe to make the match more interesting.

If that happens Zim will be bowled out for less than 60, mark my words. It will be like Lords in 2000 when they had a much better batting line up who had played a lot of cricket around the world. Pitches like that do not exist in Zimbabwe.

It is already difficult for Zimbabwean batsmen to adjust to playing outside Africa, and nothing about their batting in recent tests suggests this will be different.

On cricinfo it is reported that after the test match Zimbabwe will play South Africa in a 4 day match at Arundel, a shame they cant agree to make it an official test, it would make the game more meaningful.
Unless they are doing something funky like having different teams in different innings like they sometimes do in warm-up games, it would cost nobody anything to attach Test status to that game too, a strange one

I'm conflicted on this. I'm glad Zim is getting a Test in England but it also shows the hypocrisy of the English. They boycotted Zimbabwe cricket for years because of the political situation there, and it is arguably as bad as it has been in the past 20 years, opposition neutered, people beaten up, being disappeared, and put into jail on trumped charges, rampant and widespread corruption by the government.

Good luck to Zim. hope they can make a good game of it and get some big runs on the board Williams, Curran and Ervine need to perform. Muzarabani i am sure will bowl well, would like to have seen Brad Evans as back up seamer though,

Not sure it's hypocrisy. Just realised, not before time, there's more to life than politics.
