I like the position of Ponting and Gavaskar (though both more extreme than what I will do). I don't like those of Weekes and Walcott and Trumper and Ranji and Pollock and am genuinely mad that Compton and Nourse are no where to be seen. And I am quite flabbergasted by the ranking of Grace..... 16th?? Seriously??? Like that just looks wrong. All in all not the worst list I have seen, but it definitely has something everyone of us will like, and something everyone all of us will hate the guts of.

Weekes and Walcott were downgraded due to their performances in Eng and Aus, Ranji and Pollock and Grace just didn't have enough of a test sample for him to push them up.
Nourse again made runs in England in tests but a low sample size, but didn't make many in eng at the FC level.
Basically all guys with low sample sizes in tests have been downgraded a bit.

Wow he rated Kohli, abd , Chanderpaul etc over Steve Waugh.
The argument (like Chanderpaul) is that he didn't bat higher up the order when his team needed him to, and the fact that he had very easy entry points in his career (150/3 was the median entry point approximately).
Having said all this, I'd have him a bit higher for his performances in the 90s but he has downgraded the no 5s/6s a bit throughout the book.

A few oddities (Grace and Pollock feel like they should be higher if considered, or alternatively omitted) but a pretty good list generally. I love the top 5.
