Ndwandwa was one of the top wicket takers this season. The only dead wood I see in that side is Mokagane and and Ntuli...

Ndwandwa and Ntuli are pushing 30 and they are behind around 6/7 finger spinners just a few years older. But maybe there is a reason Seleka isn't selected or they didn't look at Odirile Modimokoane, Liam Alder or Juan James.

The frustrating part for me is they don't get to too look at other players who have more potential.

Another easy win for SA U19s. This group faced Zim last year and it was one of the most one sided contests you will ever see. Hoping they get one proper series to test them before the WC.

I don't know how the Warriors and Robbie P are doing it but they've signed SA U19 seamer, Ntando Soni, as well.

Mohammed Yaseen Vallie has confirmed his retirement from the game.

He was part of Wayne Parnell's SA U19 group that played Kohli's India U19s in the U19 CWC final in 2008 was it? Solid domestic pro.

He wants to give back to the game now.

I think the other issue with the emerging side is many players have european club commitments. I'm consistently surprised at how many even 2nd div guys or squad players have gigs in England, Ireland or Netherlands...

Oh yeah. Big time. I mean Matthew De Villiers was a club player in Cape Town and breaking records for the club's he was playing for in England.

Raynard van Tonder I saw was in Netherlands this winter. Jono Bird in Wiltshire.

Romashan Pillay is in the Emerging squad but he signed for Penzance in Cornwall.

Even Tiaan Brits (who doesn't have biographical info on either cricinfo or wisden, though neither are not as comprehensive as they once were) appears to have played for a "Meigle" in Scotland... If it's the same ou.

I know you were asking about Tiaan Brits' details.

This is how I worked out his age. In 2019 he matriculated and won Hoerskool Noordheuwel's Cricket Player of the year.

Afrikaans schools in Joburg and surrounds that are not Pretoria or North West Province are really starting to thrive in cricket.

In the past you probably had Zander De Bruyn who went to Helpmekaar, Andrew Hall who went to Hoer Alberton, Fanie De Villiers at Heidelberg Volkskool + Tertius Bosch and The Morkel's going to Technical school in Vereeniging.

Now Nandre Burger went to Hoerskool Monument & Noordheuwel are very successful now in cricket which are towards the NW province in Krugersdorp. Competing with the tradition English-speaking schools. Recent SA U19 Ronan Herrmann , Tiaan Brits and watch out for JJ Basson in the current SA U19 squad all have or are going there. JJ is a tall left-arm quick. Big things are expected.

A few more around are Wiese (Witbank), Delano Potgieter (also Alberton) and a bit further afield HS Merensky in Tzaneen has produced Marchant de Lange and Eldred Hawken. It is still weirdly insular compared to e.g. rugby and even women's cricket, where players come from many more areas...

There is no ways he would cost the world and really a big Province like WP should think bigger than playing Nabe.
100% sadly that leftie fast youngster who played for us at 17 seems to have faded , atleast moreki , mpomi and Tony are 3 merits than nabe kitme there for reserve numbers maybe the keeper batsmen comes through.
