like 1989-1992? they didn't clash at the time.I mean if you’re going to exclude a period before Murali “got good” you should exclude Sachin’s period where he wasn’t good, no?

I meant the 05 series.like 1989-1992? they didn't clash at the time.
Sachin also got to beat up the 2009-10 Murali who would retire the very next series and averaged 65 that series so that evens it out, the one series inbetween where Murali was still a force and Sachin was coming off of averaging 70 in Australia (albeit, on roads), Sachin averaged 15. One series where Sachin is washed and Murali is at full output (37), another series where Sachin and Murali are both at peak output (15) and a final one where Sachin is at peak output and Murali is washed. (57).I meant the 05 series.
I don't think Sachin is ever promoted as a pace dominator. Just a mostly consistent scorer against quality attacks.Viv's exploits against ATG pace attacks are massively blown out of proportion, Sachin's also to a lesser extent. Viv a bit better.
Very possibly.purely because he didn't get to play elite levels of spin while Sachin had Warne who he smashed around, and was less successful against a matured Muralidharan but the raw statistical perception gives that vibe. If Viv had a Warne or Murali to smash around, he would have and would have the perception of being the same tier as SRT against spin.
That's probably because Waqars peak was virtually unmatched. I remember the series vs us in 93 that WI won handle but Waqar was still among the wickets. Back then, we still had a decent batting lineup: Lara, Haynes, Richie etc.But Waqar is always get clubbed with Wasim (as we often check performance against 2 W).
