Curious stat though, in all the 22 matches McGrath, Gillespie and Lee played together, McGrath didn’t open in one innings.
McGrath took one wicket and New Zealand came within 10 runs of a surprise victory after an early declaration from Waugh (which would also have won them the series)

Must rate Herath too quite highly. The only 2 who consistently troubled him for an extended period. Yasir too to an extent.

This is an interesting one.
I've gone for Wagner as he took on the hard yards; striving with every sinew to extract anything from the pitch when others couldn't. And he was often successful with it. A wonderful foil for any great pair of new ball bowlers.
As such, I'd say he'd be more useful to a team than Gillespie. I've voted for Wagner as I'd select him ahead of Gillespie. I'm not so certain that Wagner's a 'better' or more skilful bowler than Gillespie but I still think I'd be picking Wagner ahead of Gillespie for any XI I'd be selecting.
