If pressure is your argument, you should rate bats who performed against opponents of comparable strength higher. Who is under more pressure- a player involved in a missmatch, where their own performance won't change the result, or one in a tight game whose performance will?
Pretty sure a bat facing McWarne has more pressure than facing Wagner and Southee. It isn't even close. In fact this is so obvious I don't think I have to argue it.

And you are assuming every game against average opposition is tight. You are basically adding an extra variable there.

A big why strong teams dominate is they create more pressure. Again this is obvious man.

No, facing a great attack is harder. A tight game is higher pressure. You think bats have expectation weighing them down when AUS have declared @ 600 and they are 15 wickets down for 300? See ODI WCs.

I'm obviously not saying that all games between two similar teams will be tight. Just that they will be tight more often.

Well the top 4/5 are going to have unbelievable pressure just to survive.

Maybe but a greater attack is more pressure every game.

So I am rewarding those capable of higher pressure performances.

All you are saying in this post is that better attacks are better. Pressure is not a relevant part of this conversation, except for attacks that relied on pressure. Bats didn't feel much pressure facing Steyn, but he got them out.

Pressure faced was my point on why that is a better measure than match result for player assessment...and to say bats didn't face pressure facing Steyn is a gross exaggeration.

Your argument is that better bowling is better. That's just a bit circular.
