Trueman, Lillee, Akram.

Akram kind of lacks the destructiveness of the other two as displayed by Trueman's strike rate and Lillee's WPM, and even though he had more away opportunities, he wasn't amazing away from home anyway.

Lillee - Simply a wickettaking machine at a level that allows him to overtake the others plus super high rep

Trueman - A bit like Lillee but not as impressive away

Wasim - Overall stats a bit not as impressive but still fairly reasonable success across countries and great rep

I am torn between Wasim and Trueman

Yeah we have debated this and like Sachin Sobers I am opting for the guy who is more impressive away (though both had limited opportunities)
I'll personally opt for the one with the best performance against the best perfoming batting lineups of their era.

Yes we disagree on that and even for the sake of argument Trueman is better the difference is miniscule.

Highest Scoring Batting lineups of Lillee's time – West Indies and Pakistan

Highest Scoring Batting lineups of Trueman's time – West Indies and Australia

Post Trueman's numbers against the Carribean and Australia and then Lillee's against Windies and Pakistan, actually I'll do it.

Trueman (vs West Indies and Australia): 165 wickets @ 24.34
Lillee (vs Pakistan and West Indies): 126 wickets @ 29.26

Trueman's SR and WPM are transcendent for his era, Lillee's WPM is also stellar, it's Wasim whose case I need an explanation on.

And Trueman actually significantly better away against those teams.

Truemans SR etc is entirely a home phenomenon he doesn't have anything near that away from home.

I feel Lillee is the best among the three but also the least proven performer across different conditions.
The reality is that Lillee was worldclass in England yet Trueman couldn't replicate that in WI and Aus.

Even Johan when we debated earlier admitted Lillee was better away.

Why are you combining averages? There are only two teams. And why not just focus on the single best team? We don't do this for other cricketers.

I will grant that Trueman is better at home against WI. Not away thoigh.

He plays a very highly disproportionate amount of games at home as well. 47/67 (over 70%) is very home biased.
He can only play the games he is selected to play, in the 60s the 10 games he got in Australia and Windies, England won 2, Australia won 1 and Windies won none, 7 draws and Trueman was the driving force behind the 2 wins, even on the flatter wickets.
