Yeah I agree, It's more ironic than anything. How is "glaze" an excuse.

Like you haven't glazed any player ever.ironic how
I concedeLike you haven't glazed any player ever.
None of the sides are interested in pressing arguments soa lot of words for no real argument about who of the three is the brs
Sachin over Sobers - more accomplished away IMO and the 90s more bowling friendlyNone of the sides are interested in pressing arguments so
for meSachin over Sobers - more accomplished away IMO and the 90s more bowling friendly
Sachin over Smith - longevity
Sobers and Smith is hard to say, will need to see where Smith ends up
Away performances matter more as we agree that Sobers had really flat pitches at home. Tendulkar faced more ATGs and had a few he did dominate like Warne and Steyn. Sobers didn't dominate all ATGs he faced anyways.for me
Sobers vs Sachin – Sobers has more mega serieses and a greater peak (70+ avg for 10 years), Sachin had a better away record but Sobers substantially more dominant at home, Sachin faced better bowling but Sobers dominated ATGs more universally. would go Sobers overall as I don't value longevity that much
Sobers over Smith – pretty much the above, but Smith more achieved away from home imo, but again, we put diffetent values on longevity
Yeah but the gap in home performances is also significantly higher, and what great/ATG did Sobers face that he did not have great output against?Away performances matter more as we agree that Sobers had really flat pitches at home. Sobers still has longevity advantage over Smith but to me it's very close between them.
LoL, Ashwin took his wickets only during the 2nd test, and that too in extreme foggy conditions where players like Brook would refuse to play cricket.Smith has atg series (17 bgt) vs two atvg spinners he faced(ash and jadeja) but became ashwin`s bunny in 20/21 and 23 bgt
Sachin had flat pitches at home as well. And you say Sobers didn't dominate "all" the ATGs he faced, neither did Sachin. Sachin still probably slightly better but the flat wicket thing with Smith and Sobers is overstated. Sachin's home wickets were just as flat.Away performances matter more as we agree that Sobers had really flat pitches at home. They were all flat so Smith wins cos away record.Sachin had flat pitches at home as well. And you say Sobers didn't dominate "all" the ATGs he faced, neither did Sachin. There weren’t that many good bowlers during Sobers primeYeah but the gap in home performances is also significantly higher, and what great/ATG did Sobers face that he did not have great output against?
now you’re just making things up. Indian pitches were not high scoring in the 90s as most visiting teams can attestSachin had flat pitches at home as well. And you say Sobers didn't dominate "all" the ATGs he faced, neither did Sachin. Sachin still probably slightly better but the flat wicket thing with Smith and Sobers is overstated. Sachin also barely played against 90s ATGs during his prime. There weren’t that many good bowlers during Sobers prime
Sachin had Sobers’ career where he was better (and the best bat in the world in the best era for bowling) and then a whole second career where he was a top 5 bat
Yeah, but those he got (Davidson, Lillee, Trueman), he averaged very high against. There weren’t that many good bowlers during Sobers prime

and faced none of them in their primeYeah, but those he got (Davidson, Lillee, Trueman), he averaged very high against.
