Kirmani for Latif, Amarnath for Abbas (bats at 3)


2000-25:
Shami for Asif, VVS for Rohit (Dravid to open)


Pretty 2000 has the stronger bowling attack and is the stronger batting side

Lateef is easily a better keeper than Kirmani. Amaranth and Abbas are a tossup for me.

Asif come on even with shorter career is better than Shami though you could argue Shami suits the wickets more. Dravid didn't open much so I would not want to dislodge him.

Yes pre 2000 are better allround players but playing in UAE may even it out.

Did you watch Kirmani keep? Lateef was the most athletically gifted keeper I have seen. Kirmani may be better with the spinners though.

75-99 easily wins. Far superior bowling attack that won't break down after 3 tests like Shoaib will and Bumrah can, actual elite opening with Gavaskar and Anwar/Hanif while 2000s would be made short work of by the Pakistani pacers.

Asif is the best new ball bowler I have seen to be honest. Shoaib is the best shock bowler.

But Shoaib as you mentioned is likely to break down if bowled too much. Asif won't be the same threat outside new ball in UAE.
