Hmm you used to critique him for having a soft record and rated Hutton ahead of him.
debateable both ways, Sobers was better at dominating on flatter wickets but Hutton is peerless when the going gets tough (bar the obvious two)

An average means runs by how many times a batsman has been dismissed and that’s generally better than run per innings
I disagree.

50 + 50 +50= average/rpi of 50

50+42+40*= average of 66 but rpi of 44

150>132.

Usually in cricket, the team with the most runs wins. And rpi is runs actually scored.

Yeah Lara lacks the longevity of sustained brilliance to be definitively better than SRT, he's probably about Viv lvl.
Lara effectively played 14 years (1992-2006)
for Viv those 14 years would be (1974-1988)

130 matches, 11,904 runs @ 53.14, 34 hundreds in 230 innings.

116 matches, 8,853 runs @ 53.27, 27 hundreds in 177 innings
. [WSC included]

similar enough, Lara was probably better tho, faced actual ATG attacks, his best serieses were levels above Viv's best and was not a downhill skier like Viv.

This guy was bashing me for having Lara higher than Viv just a week ago. Just how the turn tables.

Hulk Hogan was telling the kids to take their vitamins and say their prayers a week before being revealed as the third man of the New World Order too, you know.

Yeah but isn't the batsmen's fault (at least in most cases), that he didn't get to bat longer. Feels unfair to punish him for that.
I don't considser it punishment either. Because you'll find that pretty much all the batsmen we rate here on CW also have pretty high risk as well: Hutton, Hobbs, Sobers, Hammond, Donald etc.
