Has van Beek picked up a yard of pace or is his action deceiving that makes him look quicker than he is.

That bowled dismissal of Bowes looked pretty brutal

Great work from Younghusband to rattle through the tail and spare Wellington's blushes.

Neil Wagner started this season as the 8th highest wicket taker in Plunket Shield history with 349 wickets.

And he has moved up to 4th all time, with 361.

He could move to 2nd place if he got another 10 wickets (first place is waaaaaay out of reach).
But, I don't know what his availability is.

Not a big deal. 2nd or 4th etc. Just an interesting little statistical quirk.

Amazing how high the Plunket Shield bowling averages are this season - plenty of the top dozen are averaging over 30. Pre-Xmas not as seam friendly as other seasons and then the recent rounds have yielded a heap of runs.

Papps with a county-esque record on the batting side of things

Plunket Shield race might be over, Wellington adding to their 'almost comeback of the century' win over Canterbury last week by having ND 5-50 on a green Basin Reserve wicket.
