Corey: "John Cena needs to explain himself tonight."

Cole: "Well Corey, I think we need to give him (i.e., the person who ripped off Cody's clothes and beat the living **** out of him) the benefit of the doubt."

It would be mega funny if the 3 biggest "Hollywood" icons of pro-wrestling formed a heel group.

We already have Rock and Cena. We all know who the 3rd man is. :)

Absolutely great promo as well tbh. Really emphasises just how skilled he is, and the gulf between him and a lot of the other talent the E have on the roster currently (many of whom are actually really good themselves).

WAG. I will really miss him when he's completely gone.

a very underrated classic I reckon is his match with Taker in Birmingham in 1997, absolute classic, Criminal how little have watched that one.

Hart/Hart at Wrestlemania X is probably legitmately the best match worked in America in that century from a purely technical perspective, everything is perfect from a technical perspective and I'm not really sure one can exceed that, I give the nod to Bret/Austin II slightly only because I think the story of the match was superior and very little beats the sheer imagery of the Sharpshooter on a bleeding Austin.

Yeah good shouts, don't think you're alone on having 'Mania 13 top. And I love the Taker One Night Only match, rate it very highly.


Re: last night's Raw, the heat for that Cena promo was wild. The company has gone years at a time without getting a reaction as loud as that. The crowd adore Cody too.

I thought their Summerslam match was even better no? With the added dimension of HBK as the special ref.

On another note, is 1997 the only year where the World title changed hands in EACH of the big 4 PPVs?

Royal Rumble - Sid lost the title to Shawn.
WM - Taker beat Sid for the title. (technically vacant, but we can still call it changing hands)
Summerslam - Bret beats Taker for the title.
SS - The famous Montreal Screwjob. Shawn gets the title from Bret.

This is a great trivia question. I am going to waste some time this morning looking it up.

Yeah, turns out 1997 is indeed the only year on record where this happened.

Though interestingly, 2009 is (I think) the only year in which either (i.e., one or the other/at least one of) the WWE championship or WHC changed hands at all of these shows.
