In terms of top flight full time keepers, they're just those two.

But as a pure keeper, Healy was so very special. Gilchrist was very good, Healy was ATG special.
Would you rate Healy as the the best ever with the gloves?

I am not sure if he was the best ever. Healy is one of the best ever but Gilly coming after him has decreased his legacy.
I don't think so tbh.

If you've watched the two, the difference in quality is clear. Gilly just beats him on batting.

Who are top five as pure wicket keepers?
Not sure about pre 70s keepers. Post among the videos I have seen and based on peer review
Knott is an ATG, Taylor considered technically the best keeper ever...also wins for longevity over anyone
Dujon had the best reflexes against fast bowling...but unproven against spinners due to the lack of spinners..
Marsh another great but underrated keeper, Healy and Gilchrist proven exceptionally against all attacks- Pace, Bounce, Swing and Spin
Latif naturally very talented keeper, Moin had a lot of technical limitations..still a good keeper
Russell..seen some of his amazing keeping clips, but less idea...
Have seen some amazing catches of Haddin...splendid and underrated...Saha is good...

Rodney Marsh's stumpings are lightning quick and some of his catches were decent first slip catches...
Is Dhoni overrated as being the only person to do quick stumpings? I have seen Marsh, Russell do about the same.

I would say it could have something to do with the prevalence of spin for India. Don’t know how accurate that might be.

I have read about Russell's keeping to spin from two very respected English posters here, and it wasn't particularly much positive.

Healy is clearly a better keeper.
But Gilly came after him and ppl have forgotten Healy
Literally who has forgotten Ian Healy?

There seems to be an direct inverse correlation between batting and wicket keeping talent.

its almost literally the better batsman you are the worse you are with the gloves.

When you look at the full time, notable keepers post war it's

Gilchrist
Knott / Healy
Evans.

Doesn't mean they're forgotten though.

I believe people have been derided here for that exact opinion.
