I guess Croft is underrated because he didn't play much and Sir Andy Roberts has phenomenal records in India. Is it inflated beacuse of the weak Indian batting of the 70s barring Gavaskar and Viswanath

Garner is a weird case

I know he didn’t play much in Asia but he was pretty much the toughest bowler to score runs against

Everyone seems to be ranking these bowlers on their whole career. If the question is rank the Quartet then to me that should be a ranking on when they were an actual quartet.

No doubt Roberts was the experienced leader of the attack, but Holding was the best, with Garner being the most dangerous to break through at anytime, while Croft is very much underrated.

My rankings are the same as their overall stats in the 11 Tests they bowled together as probably the best pace attack ever

Holding: 51 wkts @ 20.56
Garner: 47 wkts @ 19.48
Croft: 46 wkts @ 25.82
Roberts: 28 wkts @ 35 53

Exactly this.

Nothing to add.
