Pujara and it's not close
Pujara is definitely better than MathewsPujara is closer to Angelo Mathews (or possibly better). Mathews is ahead of Samaraweera.
CorrectPujara is definitely better than Mathews
Nah, Mahela is easily better, but it's closer to than Mathews.Pujara vs Mahela is debateable forget Pujara vs Matthews
Pujara had a decline v spin that Mahela never experienced (aggravated by the era) but Pujara's work in Australia demolishes anything Mahela has outside Asia. It's definitely debatable.Nah, Mahela is easily better, but it's closer to than Mathews.
Really?Pujara is definitely better than Mathews
DisagreePujara is definitely better than Mathews
Pujara in Australia 2018-19 is a greater achievement than anything in Mahela's career as far as I'm concernedNah, Mahela is easily better, but it's closer to than Mathews.
Pujara had major limitations on bouncy/seaming tracks no doubt but his tour of England in 2018 was much tougher conditions than each time Mathews came over here and he dug out an average of 40 at no3.Really?
Pujara was excellent in Australia but terrible in NZ and England - 2 places where Mathews was great. Angelo is the best Asian bat at coping with Southee-Boult-Wagner.
He also had more gears to put pressure on bowlers
Pujara the best of the three imo but I am a fan of Azhar.Very little between Pujara, Azhar Ali, and Mathews imo
Agreed, Pujara in 2020-21 was excellent and very crucial too. But, Mahela had better career imo, was a great player of spin.Pujara in Australia 2018-19 is a greater achievement than anything in Mahela's career as far as I'm concerned
I think it's close, Pujara 43 but with his work in Australia and Mahela 47 with his ability against spin (removed his minnow bashing runs), seems compareable to me given era and all. Mahela easily better is a disservice to Pujara imho.Agreed, Pujara in 2020-21 was excellent and very crucial too. But, Mahela had better career imo, was a great player of spin.
Mathews won a test series for SL in EnglandPujara had major limitations on bouncy/seaming tracks no doubt but his tour of England in 2018 was much tougher conditions than each time Mathews came over here and he dug out an average of 40 at no3.
Pujara was also a great player of spin before he fell away. Better on turning tracks than Kohli I think. Before his decline I'd have certainly gone with CP because him and Mahela were both top drawer in Asia and Pujara's work in Australia was/is a cut above anything Mahela has in those parts.Agreed, Pujara in 2020-21 was excellent and very crucial too. But, Mahela had better career imo, was a great player of spin.
