Anyone got that picture of Mike Gatting having a nose job, can’t remember off which bowler. Could be Patterson

I did like the story of a tv interviewer asking where he’d been hit as he sat there with a plaster and two black eyes

Yep. And England would usually play batsmen who were considered the best against pace bowling to counter act such as Wayne Larkins, David Smith etc. None of them particularly worked.

Not that it was particular successful here either. Paul Terry clocked, Andy Lloyd clocked.
Peter Willey is another who springs to mind.

Duckett has really kicked on from his Brisbane Heat days in the Big Bash, I wouldn't have picked him to be a test opener for England back then.

McCullum also played for the Brisbane Heat so that might have helped.

I think it was Garner during one of the ODIs that preceded the tests. Or maybe it was Marshall and Garner removed a piece of Gatt's nose-bone from the ball.
