I do think Jadeja is a level above them all. Quite a few in this forum under-rate him a lot but he proves time and again how valuable he is.

On batting,
Stokes>Jadeja=Shakib>Holder

The difference in batting between Stokes and Jadeja is not as much as many here think. Yes, Stokes gets scintillating centuries but Jadeja is much more consistent than Stokes. There are very few innings that Jadeja fails to score above 30.

On bowling,
Jadeja>Shakib>Holder>>Stokes
Shakib is a better bat than Jadeja

Whatever it takes!!!
I'd say so. Think some people get carried away on Jadeja's batting. His average flatters him.
I think as a pure batsman, Shakib is better than Jadeja but Jadeja plays his role perhaps better than Shakib does, or at least more consistently than Shakib does.

Some padding against Zimbabwe too. Stokes has never got to play them.
Re his bowling stats. When you remove Zimbabwe and Windies 2009 series with their 3rd XI, his bowling average moves up above 33. He actually hasn't padded his stats against the very weak teams quite so much with the bat, but as I said, he really hadn't played against the better pace attacks enough to say he was that outstanding.

Shakib is an extraordinarily overrated crixketer

not fit to lick Stokes (or Jadejas boots)

As an individual the less said the better

There are about 30 modern day English cricketer better than Shakib including six of the current test team
Who? Name names. Perhaps Root and Anderson. I can't think of anyone else in the current test team. Brook might be in 7-8 years.

What do consider modern-day?

There aren't 30 better England cricketers than Shakib since 1970. And Fuller Pitch was quite right when he pointed out the volume of tests Moeen Ali has played as that obviously eradicates the fallacy that Shakib wouldn't have played many tests in an England jersey.

I do however believe that the fact some players have to play the big boys a lot more than others sometimes goes under the radar because there's an increasing stigma against contextualising averages. And that isn't being checklist-y by any means. It's pretty basic. Gooch opened in 60% of his 215 test innings' against Australia and Windies, all in pace-orientated countries. The only attack that wasn't strong there was the 85 Ashes. The Windies were unrelentingly ferocious and he averaged 45. Averaged above fifty across other opposition but he didn't play them as often. I would say he is better than Shakib. Hard to compare specialists to all rounders though.
