The Wheel is Forever
Pakistan are, and have been historically, the most unpredictable (or inconsistent if you want to be less kind) side. On their day; they can stand toe to toe like they did with the Windies in the 80s, but when not on their day, they can look like a club side. Talent has always been abundant so they always have that insane performance in their back pocket.

Exactly. That is why I won't call them favs even against this terrible England side.

Important runs these by Phillips, it's now at an 80 run deficit for Pakistan to win by to overturn the NRR difference.

This is why taking the game deep, absorbing initial pressure and keeping wickets in hand is important. softer ball and more dew = easy batting conditions.

Looks like I was wrong to doubt the insightful kiwi punditry claiming that the loss choke against the Aussies would actually be good for their confidence.

Lol.

So if Pakistan were to score 300, they would need to restrict NZ to 215 to overtake them on NRR.

If NZ scored 250, Pakistan would need to chase them down in 35 overs.

NZ are still very much in the box seat.

Moss

International Vice-Captain
Well, glad Phillips at least got some batting practice.

clinical from South Africa. NZ never fired a shot, wrong toss decision or not. Thinking to do for sure.

Don't forget Afghanistan comeback

At least Phillips late hitting kept the margin below 200 runs and helped to limit the NRR damage, still an awful loss for us though.

We need to bounce back against Pakistan with a much better performance and a win, hopefully we can find 11 fit players to take the field.

NZ has to lose to SL as well and that will affect the margin Pakistan has to win by too
