He’s pretty close to surpassing guys like Ponting and Sanga IMO. Just needs another 30 tests of good form
So another 5 or 6 years at NZ's rate of playing tests?

The answer to this is clearly Kane.....its not even really a discussion. But it's a dumb comparison tbh. Such different players with such different roles.

Whilst his overall away record in that time is good, and he has played quite well in Australia, he has struggled in South Africa, India and England, which have been the other main teams with quality bowling attacks during that time.

Proper roads in Australia when he played here too, good attack notwithstanding.

I love Kane but if you're an analyis by checklist kinda person then it's fair enough to mark him down a bit for 'holes'.

Did fine on the tour to SA during his peak I think. Only 3 innings and ran out of partners in one. It’s just India and England where he’s really struggled.

Of all the times he's toured India, England, Australia and South Africa, he's had one great tour (2015 in Australia) and virtually nothing else. Dismissing it as a myth is weak.

His most meaningful away runs were probably in that UAE tour they won. He needs to do more of that.

Additionally in SL he has a hundred but his second best score out of seven innings' is 20
