Donald and Pollock never won a series in England and Australia our two biggest rivals , Steyn and Philander did on multiple occasions.. and Philander played a big role in beating Australia for the first time since 1970 at home ..Only real blip was neither Philander or Steyn could help beat England at home..For those reasons I'd go with Steyn and Philander as a better partnership ..
Steyn and Philander did have better batting to back them up though, and Morkel was a better third bowler than anyone who played with Donald and Pollock (except maybe Ntini, but he was only there for the tail end of Donald's career).

Yeah I voted the same way KV did, but pretending two players were responsible for the results created by 22 in each game is always silly.

Fanie De Villiers was more skillful than Morkel imo.

Unless we are talking something epic like Harbi in 2001, it is silly to blame team series success/failure on a single player. Steyn and Philander had a much better batting unit to back them.

I have issues with Donald's away performances but his series in England in 98 was better than any series by Steyn or Philander in England, for example.

Who said I was blaming anyone though?..There is different ways of looking at things its all subjective don't try to always force your opinions on people ..
All I said was Philander and Steyn helped win us series in Australia and England which is a fact , you can't quantify the feeling that gave South Africans who waited a long time to see that happen.. And I wouldn't trade that for anything..

There's also some really amazing demolition jobs that Steyn and Philander helped inflict on opposition batting line ups , Pakistan 49 all out at the Wanderers, New Zealand and Australia getting skittled for under 50 in Newlands ..

I'm only going off by what I saw , not oh if this team had this batting line up ,or if they bowled in these conditions that's all hypothetical, Donald and Pollock were great but they also were part of a team that did flatter to deceive , I'll leave the hypothetical stuff to the people who enjoy that but that ain't me .

You didn't use that word earlier and if you did, we wouldn't have commented this way.

That’s why they’re blaming it on a pair.
Your tone would also change if this were Ashwin and Jadeja, not Donald and Pollock.
Imagine saying Donald-Pollock is better than Ambrose-Walsh is better than Wasim-Waqar because they won more series. How can anyone take that seriously?

It's so obvious that you have to take the rest of the team strength into the equation that honestly it shouldn't have to be spelled out.
