Anderson 5-76 and Jack Leach smacking a 32 ball 40 not out!!
Don't forget Leach's 17-1-103-0

Dukes haven't changed their balls either. In the previous Essex/Lancs game there were 5 ball changes and many requrests for ball changes.

Cricketer Of The Year
Essex scored at nearly 5 an over and cook struck at 130.

Me thinks it's a road. But as Ben only wants roads for the Ashes then probably puts him in a good position.
Essex still have a good attack that's done well so far this season and crawleys dominated them tbf.

Or we could just say that both England openers scored in the 170's in Div 1 whilst the likes of Marnus and Harris got a top score between them of 26 in 4 attempts in Div 2....

Ashes81

State Vice-Captain
Our top 3 of Zak, Duckett and Pope all seem in good nick which is obviously encouraging.

However, it does seem as if Crawley is going to play in the 1st test which is obviously less good news.

Looks like a toss up between Foakes and Johnny as to who wears the gloves and my money would be firmly on Foakes.

There's still a chance Jonny never makes it back to match fitness anyway (hopefully that's not the case).

Saying that, McCullum has been quoted as saying that he's 100% back in the side as soon as he's fit, and Bairstow's own recent interview suggests that he believes there's no doubt at all that he's playing in the Ashes.

Bairstow just hit 97 for Yorkshire 2nds. I believe Olly Stone got him out, so useful opposition attack it seems.

He's doing more batting than the likes of Root and Stokes at the mo!

Stone only bowled a few overs and got him out

On the right of the page is a column of highlight clips:

If you scroll down to 196/3, it's worth it to see this stroke!!

It's basically the late cut* version of THAT Ian Bell cover drive.

* I can't work out if it should be called a late cut or a square drive tbh

U19 Captain
Rehan Ahmed in the runs, making a breezy 90. April not really the time to get a good indication of his leg spin form but hope he goes on to get a good bowl at some stage.
