Watched Toole on the stream a few weeks ago. Gets nice bounce too but doesn't really use it. Seems to love throwing it full going for death or glory.

Which means expect to see him trialled in T20 next season!

Also, Ray Toole is going to finish second top wicket taker of the season (would need 9 this innings to overtake Duffy). His bowling looks extremely similar to every other right arm military medium BUT OMG HE BOWLS WITH HIS LEFT ARM. I wonder if this might get him a sniff at an NZ spot at some stage - add 5km/h and you never know? South African born and has played for Essex too.
If he's prepared to grow a pornstache and show up to his first press conference carrying a pizza with extra sausage I say get him in the team.

What a finish to the season for CD. I forgot Clarkson's FC ton a couple of weeks ago was also against Canterbury (to go with his ton in the Ford Trophy final) and winning that game put them in position to win the shield if they won this game. A breakthrough season for him and maybe Ray Toole.
Clarkson's season since the start of the super smash really has been massive. Pulled up when it mattered in the ford trophy final and hit career best FC form to give CD a chance at winning. Still shocked he didn't get in the recently announced Pak ODI squad. FFS their basically sending over a 2nd/3rd 11 and he's in career best form and there's no domestic cricket to play. Just send him over.

Popli is an up and down fella, isn't he. One year he's top run scorer (has he done this 2-3 times) and the next year he's averaging 10 (hyperbole alert).

Good season for Foxcroft across formats, although one ton and 5 50s doesn't exactly smash the door down in the PS.

Add Dane Cleaver to the Batting Not Winners, 15 innings and not a single 50 (maybe the fact that Blundell is such a Test gun is demotivating for a four-day gloveman).

Bowling not winners could include Tim Pringle and Ajaz as well. Santner took 15 wickets at 26 and won ND a game, but those other SLAs didn't dominate.

I'd judge Tim Pringle as pretty solid for a debut season.

(half a season, 15 wickets at 37)

IMO, Biggest non-winners would be the two spinners who were on NZ A tour in September. Rippon and Walker. While a few have gotten an 'ooof' rating. They've gone from 'the cusp' to 'oooof' in 6 months. (would think Rippon can bounce back from a case of the yips, tough)
