Would have a "Challenge" Series between Big Bash & IPL work?

I know there are other T20 leagues that are doing well but Big Bash & IPL are the big 2. Should/Could their be a series where the winners play each other & also the best players from each League play each other? (I know their might be a duplicate of a player winning both & doing well in both)

What do you think

There was a Champions League earlier and then it got dropped.

Champions league back around 2010ish?? Sort of did that. Didn't last though, as you would expect IPL teams basically bullied everyone to get every possible advantage and pulled the plug when they didn't win.

More IPL teams = more money. Don't think anyone would've complained.

"bullied everyone to get every possible advantage" - what had really happened, I can't remember?

There were a few things. The most memorable was that any player that was in more than one team had to represent their IPL team. So if you had a NZ cricketer whose IPL team and NZ team both made the tournament he was forced to play for the IPL team

As you allude to there was IIRC 3 or 4 IPL teams in the tournament but only 1 each from the other comps

Was that a rule? I think teams got money to release players for their IPL teams if I am not wrong.

Chennai are expected to pay the Warriors a compensation for Hussey. Lalit Modi, the IPL chairman, recently said that players with dual loyalties could take a call on the team they wanted to represent. "If Hussey plays for Chennai Super Kings, the Champions League governing council will pay US$200,000 to his Australian club for releasing him," Modi said.

Absolutely was a rule. It was a big story at the time and one that was widely discussed among fans and commentators alike, I'm surpised it's not more common knowledge. The rule changed slightly between editions.

"In the 2010 edition, controversy arose when an IPL team contractually forced three players to play for them by utilising a clause in the rules of the IPL. The clause states that the IPL teams have first rights over their players should they qualify with another team"

Even up until the 2013 addition when players were finally allowed to choose another team over IPL, but if they did they had to sacrifice 20% of their salary. IPL financially strong-handed often and regularly, much as you'd expect.

Whatever it takes!!!

To be fair, they were given a huge amount to afford that which must have really helped the other domestic sides/franchises.

Anyways, the idea will not work coz unlike football, I think players play for multiple franchises and it will never really be a proper contest unless the players are exclusive or something.

Would like the Champions League back. But i think Scheduling was an issue was quite funny to see Somerset beat Deccan Chargers in 2009.

I think due to absence of Aussie star players doesn't makes BBL 2nd best. PSL is better quality/money wise.
Though a Champions league style tourney would be dope.
IPl
PSL
BBL
The 100/T20 blast
CPL
Super Smash = TNPL
MSL

That would be too much cricket to the point some may start avoiding the sport completely.

I think BBL and IPL should not exist like in #GoodOldDays

Not sure if PSL is any better but wouldn't surprise me at all. BBL definitely isn't what it was back 5+ years ago or when it started. Plummeted in quality.
