That was a fun CWC match, because I actually got to pile up the runs. When Shawn Dee got out at about the 30-over mark, his 101 (95) dominated the team's 154-2. His partner, Richard Simmonds (who opened) hadn't got to 50 yet. Dee has been indomitable recently in the CWC. It's his 2nd century and 2nd highest overall score, after 105 in a fr. OD vs Team of Devil. Simmonds finished up on 66* (96), facing only 40% of the balls in the innings despite batting through it. No one really got set in Schmaltzberg's response, but they were only 24 runs shy of my 231-7. So I didn't quite get the crucial bonus point.

Mr. Tinozivaishe Zikhungwini with the long name got to 1009 runs at 53.11 in the 22 group stage CWC matches for Jura CC. Player of the Tournament so far. The HS belongs to the second-highest run-scorer: Tony Chung. His 171 (110) came after FHK were reduced to 32-4, and was ably support by LOY's 38 (83). The ridiculous innings was 65% of FHK's final total, and only Chunky Kuttikad of the Hunks came away unscathed. Peter Sutherland has the second highest score, with an equally ridiculous 141 (85) from #5 against Jura CC (50K bowling) to chase down 280 with 4 overs to spare. The next two highest scores, 113 and 108* both belong to Yosuke Glenn, (formerly) of Winton CC. Lead wicket-taker was FHK's Joshua Wong, with 43 wickets at 11.53.

Best performers for AXI so far are Dee (753 runs at 37.65) and Liam Kotze (2nd-top wicket-taker, 40 wickets at 18.95).

In the BBL I've made a habit of dismissing 60K teams on a green mamba for 110, and then chasing it down with varying levels of success. This time, Rusty ensured a bonus point win. 3-13 and 45* (41).

I also played an inaugural T20 against JOJO, Rusty getting a hat-trick as 102ao I chased down with 6 wickets and 4.3 overs to spare.

Sutherland's knock came outta nowhere. Counter-attack chasing close to 290...winning it with 4 overs to spare. What a day it was for GG CC.

ZCC's dev boys on fire atm. Another good win in Div 2 today, and this time without Danial Ahsan! We're carrying 2 kids who aren't really ready for this level yet and still winning. Good signs. Bring on the CWC3 Knock Outs :thumbup1:

GG lost by almost the barest of margins-- 3 runs against India (I kid you not)

It could have ended earlier when they were 8 down for 103 in pursuit of 200, but Takaedza Nyawo, coming in at number 10, and Kasun Obeysekere added 92 runs for the 9th wicket. With 4 runs needed off 10 balls, Nyawo got out for 44 (37). The very next ball Meyappan was caught, and it was the end of the match. Kasun Obeyskere was left stranded on 53* (55)

We made light work of Pakistan. Batted first and amassed 202/8 off the allotted overs. I rested Bernstein (after that wonderful knock in the Cup match) and gave 15-year-old Hammad Haroon a knock, his debut in any form of the game.

All-rounder Hadi Hafeez opened the batting with Jigar Chengelpet, and it turned out that the move to push Hafeez up was not too great. He was dismissed for 2 (10)....the guys that came in after him all got starts and got out in the 20s. Chengelpet top-scored with 43 (42), He was the 3 man out. Haroon coming in at number 8, played himself in and build a partnership with McCormack. They took the score to 194 before McCormack lost his stumps. At this point, four overs were remaining...Haroon was attacking and not connecting....It was a crawl to cross 200. He remained not out on 20* (43). Not bad for a debut innings lol.

The first wicket for Pakistan fell on the first ball of their innings...and things just meandered along..wickets, boundaries, poor fielding, etc. They eventually got bowled out for 121. A win for Moo by 85 runs.

Veenstra: 3.1-1-14-3
McCormack: 6-1-21-3
Rabbani: 5-0-22-2
Hafeez: 3-0-8-1
Henton: 6-1-28-1

My specialist keeper, Alex Hayden snared two catches, which takes his cpm in DEV cricket to 1.53

Got the affiliate, and it's all go in terms of tabs, figuring out my players while watching 5 simultaneous tutorial friendlies. AtaraX Wellington have a delectable mix of players and are ready to test their homegrown strength against the sides of CW!

It's a homegrown affiliate, which means in my case there's not a lot in the way of batting potentials for a while. But plenty of 43+ pots all round, so I'm happy.

Dan Price is the most interesting player in the squad. He's 21/44 bat, and 26/46 bowl but... he's 32. Still should do a good all-round job for 1 to 2 seasons, but it's a shame he wasn't half the age. I've been blessed with another excellent all-rounder anyway in John Ward!

Welcome to affiliate world ! Good to hear you are employing a radically different strategy in comparison to your 1st team. I'm getting enjoyment from having a range of different issues when selecting training and scouting for the Buy Ins compared to Jura which is really - 'adding value' and making that 5p a day membership cost worthwhile

Whatever it takes!!!
I accepted just now.. but unable to find the invite again for some reason. And I keep getting logged out of the site too. Is that common?

@Magrat Garlick - Or can u send me another invite? This site does not open on my work laptop. That is the big issue as I have not had access to my personal one for last few days.

Had a SOD friendly vs @Number 11. AXI piled up 303-7, all of the top 6 managing to do their jobs well. Facing up against the mammoth total, the inexperienced Wildcards couldn't handle the pressure. But don't be disheartened. Your side will quickly improve as skills and experience improve. :)

Humbled in AX-W's T20. We were up against a much better team who smashed us by 131 runs. The homegrown team now has 3 players aged 16 years, 0 weeks. Which is odd, given you only get one player a week. But I got one of the three in my starting squad, one as my first YP, and one as the Wednesday YP. So that's what happened. The two YPs are both fairly good spinners. In the future I might have spinners of all four types at once lol. Time to develop dustbowls!
