When I was a kid I would have known those Russian planes' nicknames but old age has caught up with me and I'm struggling now...

Nope. I did just realise could have used the Eurofighter Typhoon for him. Ah well.

It was probably somewhat current information when you were a kid too. I just used Wikipedia to grab the ones that fitted, they're a bit more obscure than the most well known ones, as are the players funnily enough.

He was also the first cricketer I thought of called Jacob. I had no other ideas, so thought it was worth a guess.

My thought process was: it's you, so it's probably WI, and who is a cricketer who you'd describe as a virus? Samuels has very little redeemable about him as a person, so I went for him.
