That's harsh. As a point of comparison Latham scored a vital 80-odd at Leeds and similarly was all at sea against Moeen Ali if remember right, and that was extremely chancy too. I don't think anyone here was prepared to write him off based on that,
I'm not writting him off, I'm just observing it was a chancy innings and yeah he looked like a walking wicket whenever facing spin.

Dunno why people bash Kippax about Raval when I bashed him far more and still post. Kippax never posts much in tour threads.
Yeah he's still been around (especially in the domestic thread), just a bit less frequently than normal. He's probably just been busy.

Looks like a cracking batting pitch now. Even if NZ had a 50 run 1st innings lead and set SA 210 to win I don't think they would have had too much trouble.

It's utterly bizarre, Team gets bowl out for 160. one bloke gets 80 of them and he's the one to get bagged :p You wouldn't read about it.

Any comments on the other 10 batsmen btw who scored 80 runs between them?

This Kane at mid/off or mid-on thing is still really grinding my gears.

If you want to move from your awesome gully position to a specialist captaincy position ... then move to first slip where you influence and hopefully eventual master DRS revues.

If not, then get back in the ****ing gully.

Around the wicket bouncers to the RHer in the 3rd over? With the new ball?

Get. The. ****. Out. Of. My. Cricket. Team.

I suppose today's been the day when the gulf between the sides has outed, but fair to say it's been self inflicted to some degree for NZ. Cook getting his confidence back would be the cherry on the cake for South Africa.

Be interesting if SA bat first when they win the toss in Hamilton given it's likely to spin.

Cook with basically no pressure, continues to give slip catching practice.... his odds of making the Eng tour are shortening drastically. His potential replacement scored 187 in a LO game last night....

Yup, with respect to Cook, he looks more like a NZ standard cricketer than a SA one, you must have better talent than that in the sheds. I think I asked you that very question a few days back, but who's the chap who scored 187?

All images shown in this post credited to SeamUp; keeping SA domestic cricket going on CW since... I don`t know when.

Jeez he has that typically gritty SA'can look to him doesn't he, even just seeing that side profile...
