except he probably makes more money playing county cricket than he would for NZ...A little bit of a tangent but have to say I have massive respect for Ryder deciding to stay away from the international game. As Jarrod Kimber so aptly put it, he is choosing to stay in the small town and make lesser money but have a more satisfying life. As someone who has taken a similar decision in a different field, I think it is wonderful. It is more important to be a good person to your family and community than to achieve the peak in your profession. Big respect to the man for making a tough choice.
Even if that's true, I don't think it'd be true by a significant margin. Essex aren't flush with cash to throw around, which is one of the reasons why a number of their good homegrown youngsters have left for counties like Hampshire and Surrey.except he probably makes more money playing county cricket than he would for NZ...
yeah but remember he still gets his nz domestic contractEven if that's true, I don't think it'd be true by a significant margin. Which this season was just for the T20, so I suspect isn't a vast sum either.yeah but remember he still gets his nz domestic contract
yours was your usual baiting and im enjoying laughing at your tearsWell, I dunno if that comment was meant for me but I have not said one word on Baz's innings or comparison to Viv's effort. I have not yet watched the innings (travel does that to you) and I have no idea on Viv's effort either except what I have read. Mine was a more general comment about someone passing off Viv's batting achievements in that era in the post directly above mine due to the "poorer" fielding quality.

What's his story? I thought he had alcohol issues.A little bit of a tangent but have to say I have massive respect for Ryder deciding to stay away from the international game.
