Amazingly now James Anderson is the next guy to watch really with 41 innings without a duck.

Yasir Hameed also, he's had 45 innings, but hasn't played a Test since 2007, due to the issues with Pakistan.

Well it finally happened ....
In his 46th Test and 78th innings, after making 2,958 runs, de Villiers has registered his first duck.

Players still playing who have not made a duck yet.

45 innings - Hameed - 1450 runs
41 innings - Anderson - 246 runs
31 innings - Maharoof - 538 runs
24 innings - Chandana - 616 runs
22 innings - Ross Taylor - 796 runs
21 innings - Hafeez - 677 runs

What a strange couple of days for ducks/near ducks for opening batsman.

McIntosh getting out first ball of the series.
Dilshan out first ball of the Sri Lankan innings.
Sehwag dropped on 0 goes on to make 100
Shaun Marsh for WA vs NSW on 0 gets drops, goes on to make 100.

Watch out the openers in WI vs AUS tomorrow!

Vettori got dropped first ball and made 99 as well, although tbf he isn't an opener.

Ross Taylor, 36 innings so far without a duck. Surprising tbh, I would have thought he got one in SA.

i still dont understand how a batsman who starts off as awful as bairstow always does hasnt recorded a duck yet

Has 3 ducks so far in 98 tests. Would surely be some kind of record if he goes around for least ducks after 100 tests..
