Channel Nine are reporting that the Hughes family want the Gabba Test to go ahead

"He would want that. And he so wanted to be there".
Obviously still depends on the players as well, but this is why comments such as "there is no way the test should go ahead" were premature imo. Wait to hear what the affected parties want.

There's always the option to delay the Gabba Test until say 10 December, and then have the Adelaide Test starting on 17 December

Not that it really matters but I heard Mark Waugh on the radio this morning saying that Phil Hughes was set to replace Clarke for the Gabba Test. Would have expected him to dominate if so.

Sorry but I don't think the issue is whether Phil would want them to play. It is whether they can play. I don't think so. He wld understand.

Sutherland said basically the same thing, but then added "we'll play when we're ready".

Yeah they haven't made a decision yet, and in all likelihood it will be cancelled. Still doesn't mean the family publicly coming out and saying they'd like the game to go ahead means nothing. It is relevant. It ticks them off. It then becomes whether the players and CA want it to go ahead.

Disagree. Invite Warne. Have Brett Lee break his hand again.
